    Howa Mini EXCL Lite Chassis

    Hey guys,

Supposedly been one of these floating around in NZ (mayby Broncos), described as a very light weight prototype stock for the Howa Minis.

I have done some phoning around and found out they are only going to be around $400-ish NZD And are due in NZ in December.

They look to me, like the MDT Lss but made of Polymer and include the Pistol Grip and Butt Stock.

Has anyone physically seen / handled this?
Does anyone else know much about them?

    Not much online info.

Mainly want to know what the bedding area is?
Is it an alloy bedding block like the MDT?
Or is it Pillar bedded, and ideally requieres a bedding compound job?

Keen to get a Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel and pair it with one of these once they arrive!

I am all over a howa min action to replace my AR but I am also stuck on the stock issue. After a carbon fiber hunting stock or a light chassis so keenly interested in this thread.

Agreed, I cannot find any info on weight for the EXCL LIGHT.

No indication they sell the stock separately.

The rifle packages retail at USD $699 - only $100 more than a Hogue stock combo.

All are sold as Heavy Barrel mini actions.

Details are scarce on the EXCL, but all Howa's in NZ seem to be supplied to dealers as Barrelled Actions and Stocks. Assembly done by dealer in the configurations they choose. So if the Lightweight Barrel price was your preference, odds are this could be organised.

If the EXCL really does weigh close to 500grams, I may actually consider going with the 20" HB Grendel instead of the 22" Lightweight.

Would love to know from anyone who knows what the weight difference is between the 20" HB, 22" Standard & 22" Lightweight.

According to the US Howa catalogue, .4lbs difference between the HB and std barrelled rifles.

Had a play with a Oryx chassis on a 16" barrelled Tikka. Seemed very heavy for its size and the forend is very square. Not the most comfortable in my opinion. The MDT lss xl on my howa mini felt much lighter and comfortable to use. Just looks a bit funny with the light weight barrel.

Yeah 500gram is whats been floated around.
But unclear if that includes the pistol grip and butt stock.

But from the photos you would assume 2.5kg for whole package.
500gram for whats shown with the pistol grip and stock attached
