    Howa rimfire.

Anyone have their hands on one of these yet. Look Competitively priced in a useful stock shape.

If they shoot anything like their big brothers could be a bloody good little rifle.

    The usual suspects man. 22lr, 17hmr, 22mag. 18inch #4. 10 round mag.

They are pretty cheap so I might take a punt

Woo-hoo! I like it. Hopefully the price in NZ will be reasonable.

Broncos have them listed for $800 including an elcrapo scope. So should be round the 7-750 mark bare

6.5 lb scoped according to specs so still pretty good. Heavy by 22 standards I suppose.

Definatley aimed at the prs style 22 market. I'm sure it would be planty capable offhand as well.

I also wonder what the price point will be... Given that the Tikkas T1, RPR, CZ 455/457 rimfires hover around a grand new, I wonder where this Howa will slide in? ( Example: A Howa mini action at $800 vs a CZ527 or Tikka T3 at double that and some... ). Looking like bloody good value if it's as good as its centerfire brothers

Yeah man, as above $800 on the broncos website with shithouse scope. Good 30% cheaper than the equivelent cz or tikka offering.

Cuz in US has had one a few weeks. He’s shooting ultra velocity .22LR unsuppressed at springtime prairie dogs, off a tripod in the sitting position. I have encouraged him to do a YouTube review which would be a really good watch because it’s cool what they get up to, but he’s a bit hit and miss so we’ll see what comes along.

Handled one in OD Green at the shop. The stock looks like its KRG Bravo inspired but doesn't have the same feel. Nothing wrong with that, just stating if one was expecting a KRG Bravo, then it might not satisfy. The action feels alright, slightly gritty and will probably smoothen out after cleaning out the factory gunk and breaking in. Didnt try the trigger so can't say and if I recall, the bottom-metal is polymer. Overall didnt have too much time as I was rushing, to study the entire rifle. For the price-point, I think its worth a punt. Didn't ask if the action will fit the centre-fire stocks.

Its hard to beat a 22 LR Marlin XT 22R.. No flash, inexpensive, 100% agricultural, but a remarkably accurate little shooter. Howa has a great deal to prove given its price competitors in both the new and used markets.
