    Hu$hpower suppressors

I just picked up a nice Howa second hand, with low shot count.
It came with a Hushpower 370 suppressor. Without suppressor, it is a tack driver.
With suppressor its anyone's guess where the projectile is going.

    I've checked and no clipping.
My other rifle has a DPT - and poi is the same with/without suppressor.
Should this hushpower join the scrap pile and replace? Are they known to be a problem?

Sounds odd, my old MAE can was 8 inches low and a few right. I put that down to the weight of the thing.

Maybe set up a target with plenty of white space around it to see where they are going, it may still be grouping well but with a significant change in POI.

Have a look inside the suppressor. Is there any possible impingement?

Is it contacting the barrel by the bushing?

Nope - has about paper thin gap.
Its really irritating - as I can fire a few shots, get it close enough and then it suddenly throws all over the show.
As in going from a golf ball or there abouts at 50m out to not even on the a4 paper.

How do you know for sure it's not clipping anything? I have seen more than one terrible threading job on a hush power suppressor including one where first shot came clean out the side of the suppressor, punched a nice hole in it.

Just relying on eyeometer, I don't 100% know I guess _ I thought I'd see it on the baffles when I reviewed with a torch.

it happens to all my suppressors in any caliber, i think its normal, poi is either to the sides or lower, but still groups good.

Just for completeness for anyone searching threads in the future.
Situation has been resolved with a very tight rear bushing, as in just contacting.
As soon as the bushing was put in, rifle was shooting tight groups at 50m - bang on a target - was 1" high at 50m without suppressor.

I'll lift it slightly, but very impressed with accuracy now - and shout out to the good guys at GCity Wgtn that gave me the bushing to sort it out.

bullets dont actually need to clip the suppressor to fuck with accuraccy
if they go close the disturbance is enough to cause mega issues

Me too. A mate had one on a ruger .270, couldn’t hit jack with the hush power on. He replaced it with a HRE suppressor and it shots mint now.
