    Hugh Bradley Barrels/Gunsmithing in Alexandra

Just thought i'd give a quick shout out to Hugh Bradley in Alexandra who is a gunsmith and makes his own custom barrels. I recently used his services for a custom chrome-moly/blued barrel for a Remington 600 .243 project which I posted about a few days ago. He can make you a barrel with any custom contour you ask for and in a wide range of twists and calibres. I used Hugh purely because he can do chrome-moly/blued barrels and another forum member had used him with good results. I've been most impressed with his work (he also re-blued my action) and the new barrel is shooting .75 inch groups at 100 with factory ammo, a 4x scope and me not trying too hard. I'm confident with hand loads and a 10x scope and better rest it will shoot .5 inch groups or better. He had a pretty quick turnaround time (3-4 weeks) and was a pleasure to deal with.

Hugh actually makes his own Bradley branded rifles and I use to own one in .22 magnum which I never should have sold it was a great little rifle and very accurate. He can replicate any barrel and can exactly match the contour of old BSA and enfield barrels. So if you have a project you need a new barrel for or some custom gunsmithing keep Hugh in mind he'll look after you.

About $460-$500 for the barrel depending on standard vs custom contour from memory then about $200 for chambering and fitting. If you email him an enquiry he'll send you a pricing list.

Hugh does Stainless barrels, has done 2 for me and I'm very pleased with both. The man has 50yrs + of gun smithing experience, very knowledgable and a gentle to boot. He has 2 more jobs lined up for me, one to re-barrel my .22-250 with his 1:27cm SS barrel so I can pop out some bigger pills. Based on his work so far i know this is going to be a ripper of a barrel, he'll take time and if he has a question he'll contact you to be precise or make a suggestion. They have bases covered on custom stocks and all sorts of other rifle gear...
