Same as mine - nice lightweight compact unit. You obviously had a bad run though, usually they're pretty well regarded for reliability.
3 in a row i wasn't about to mount the fourth so it went on the shelf in the shop and got a vx3.
Glad yours is goin ok.
They do seem to have a good rep but that was my experience and i won't have another weaver.

There must be someone else who has a Nikon, mine has given me nothing but stellar service, never missed a beat on my 7mmRM, and they have a lifetime warrantee like a Leupy!
Crikey, they are bloody expensive on there!
OK guys, first off HUGE thanks for all the advice & suggestions, that's one of the main reasons I joined this forum, and the piss taking (of course) ...
After much deliberation, (yeah right) I am now the owner of a Leupold VX 2 3-9 X 40 matte wide duplex from Reloaders in jafaland for $499...
The BSA is going on the .22 and that scope on the air rifle (remember those?)............bit of the old 'Ford V Falcon' ....OH SHIT WHAT HAVE I SAID.......
Order on line with a c/c, work out exchange rate and shipping and probably some customs, will still be about $400 cheaper
A bit late now but another vote for the bushys, have 3, a trophy, 3200 and 4200, 4200 has been dropped twice from waist height onto rocks and once hit a tree. (all falling over!) still going strong :)
Idn what they cost over there but over here you can get a zeiss conquest 3-9x40 for $450 and I have one and it's great scope. Not knocking the vx3 cos there a good scope too
I fully agree with 6MMBR, that the scope is the most important part. The English say: buy the best scope you can afford and spent the change on a rifle. I don't know if MEOPTA is available in NZ, but at this moment in Europe this is the best buy available.
The VX 2 will do the job. Leupold is very reliable and the next best thing to a quality European scope. They are used a lot on heavy recoiling calibre rifles in the US, so that speaks for himself.
do those monarchs have dial up capability?
Yep, they have a tactical range, or you can order the custom target turrets from them for whatever load you want:thumbsup:
