I think the only way a "cheap" take down is going to be sort of repeatable is with the scope mounted to the barrel.
my old gevarm had the same problem, barrel off poi moves, good enough to body shoot a rabbit but not what good is that?
thats.: pretty dam ugly, i got a scope on mine and it looks alot shorter than that:D
