Thread: I need help! 270 barrel chop, cant make a decision

I’ve got mine (tikka) cut to 18 inches and it’s awesome. Hand load 145gr eldx with superformance to 2925fps, about 75fps quicker than the factory eldx loads went when the barrel was 4 inches longer.
If going with a dpt suppressor you’ll probably want one of those stainless baffles if you cut below 20inches. I know Hardy won’t stand by their warranty on any of their suppressors in a 270 shorter than 20.
Just to side track a little.. when I chopped the end off mine I got a spare T2 brake I had indexed for it at the same time.. makes for a light wee rifle but none of your mates will go hunting with you if you do that!
