If you had $800-$1000 burning a hole.......

save up a bit more & get a sauer 100 xt in 6.5 prc , R39 mentioned the cal recently im thinking id like one too .

Is the $800-$1000 you have squirrelled away for a whole pakage ( scope mounts rifle etc ) or just the rifle ?
I have recently purchased a secondhand Tikka and setting up the whole package added to the purchase price dramatically.

Howa. SAko without the Sako tax, made in Japan and not budget spec US crap. only needs a nice stock.

That's what I did but to be fair it ended up a pretty bloody nice rig. Probably the only one I regret selling.

Cost you more than a factory Tikka though.

So in a few hours, the amount of suggestions and knowledge poured into this thread has definitely leaned me away from the "buy it now" package.

I've got a few guns to keep me occupied for a wee while, including @mudgripz .22 Norinco that I haven't even fired yet. I'll probably keep stuffing the sock drawer.

Probably half decent target rig but will be stupidly heavy if your intending on carrying it around hunting.

plus 1 there they are not a hunting rifle a mate of mine had one , great target rifle but would not consider carting the thing around .
