I may not have a march but my 284 ticks all the boxes for me at the moment.

Any old .223 bolt action with a short barrel and a suppressor would do me, I do 99% of my hunting with one of these. All my other hunting I do with other rifles/calibres or bows is just for fun.

All good for ANGRY buff or lion then?
i think a a 300wsm might be a nice all round calibre ;)
I like the idea of a .260, in something lightweight and accurate with a nice (but not too fancy) wooden stock.
Id just hang on to my 243 sako 75 shortened and suppressed
dose the business for everything, Its basically all apart from my 22 that i use
Nobody keen on the classic old .30-06? Bit more grunt than a .308.
I could do a lot worse than my 20" 7mm08 remmy 700.
7mm08 is a pretty decent all rounder. For what I do anyway.
Still alot of people here picking 1 rifle, not many picking guns for all hunting the world.
If I didn't have experience with a 9.3,The old classic 30-06 would be my pick.World wide there are some mean critters that need serious damage done to them if you don't want to be a red stain in the dirt. You need something that can get the job done not only when it goes right but also when it goes wrong.
To be honest if I could only have one rifle it would be a .22 LR .
If I could cheat abit it would be a R93 with a .22 rim fire and 308 barrelled set.

30-06 really has no advantage over 308 with 150gr pills anyway, its not until you use 180gr or bigger that the extra case size actually gives an advantage.
For me it would be my 7mmSAUM,
Using the 162 A-Max for the long stuff and 145gn Barnes LRX for up close

6.5-06 for me. 6.5 has a zillion projectile choices, and 06 gives the extra grunt. Vary the pill for different game :)
7mm SAUM 154gr Norma everything NZ
162 AMAX everywhere else
World gun is hard to choose because what I would want for hunting in the States/Canada is different to what I'd want for Africa. So then...
America
Rem Titanium SA, 7mm SAUM 24" braked S&B PMII 4-16
Africa
Custom Titanium Mauser, 338 Win Mag 24" Swaro 2-7ish? Like the below but with a nice Walnut stock.

Depends on which animals. Not after an elephant or Lion. Buffalo maybe Zebra that sort of stuff. Why? 338Win not gonna cut it?
Wow. Didn't know there was a minimum Cal. 210gr TSX would do the biz I'm sure. Maybe an NT buff hunt then.
nz 6.5-06
worldwide 338/50bmg
I didn't know about the cal restriction either.

Normie, pretty unusual for people to hunt Zebra, imo does not taste good at all. Not considered dangerous game, so any antelope caliber should be fine. Warthog on the other hand is some of the tastiest meat you will ever eat, and fun to hunt.
VC, two exceptions: 375 and 9.3x62, otherwise most countries prefer you go .4xx or bigger.
Um I'd have a 22 and a 7mm08
Cause I'm broke and don't want to go buying new rifles :)
:wtfsmilie: Everyone knows there's no such thing as Just One Rifle!
A man buys a Rifle, takes it home and puts it in the safe, opens the door a couple of days later and Bugger Me!:slow: there's two of the bastards in there.
Close the door again, open it a few days later and what do you know .......................more bloody rifles. ;)
Pretty soon said man is having to buy a new safe to accommodate the growing collection.
Thats just how it is ............. almost like a law of the universe or something :)

They tell me Gazelle is very nice too.
I've just had one of your countrymen make me some Biltong using some Sika Venison I got recently.
I only had two things to say once I tasted it and that was
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! :P
And
Step away from my Biltong! :yuush:
Cheers
