I've probably said one before earlier in the thread but unless it was a M12 Mauser in 8x57 I changed my mind
I'd probably choose a pair of stainless sakos in 30 06 and 338, I reckon if I can't kill it with either of those I've no business hunting it.

7mm Rem Mag, just alternating the projectile to suit the game being hunted, you will cover 99% of the hunting you would ever do, not interested in shooting Cape Buff or Hippo, 180gn Berger Vld will put down anything else. Worth remembering Roy Weatherby hunted and killed Cape Buffalo with a .257 Weatherby Mag using a 100gn Partition, one shot kill. Maybe not a full frontal charge but the point is made, you do not need a crew manned weapon of surface to air capability to shhot most game.

I'd still go the same. Head shots leave plenty of meat on the rabbits. An accurate shot will drop anything else. May lean more towards the 243 if I can drag myself higher. 300-400m range would be plenty long enough for me. Both are now accurate enough for me.Quote:
