My last one was pretty basic. Cal, action type (bolt/semi etc), brand (putting custom is fine)
Done and dusted.
Easier still is doing it with your AO and let them fill out the form.
They last for 12 months too which is nice.
I'm after a whole bunch of parts and it may change due to availability, AO was busy today and just left me the forms. I'll give her a call. Nice and helpful on the phone, at least.
It may not matter on the NZ side, I know people leaving out the brand or putting the firearm model in as a brand. If its a US exporter the other paperwork (eg purchase order, itar forms ) has to be specific including brand, model but your import permit you supply to them doesn't.

I just give my AO the invoice once I've ordered. They can write out a new permit if you need it.
Is it worth bothering for your average run of the mill bolt rifle? Or only worth bothering for your flash Blasers or AR bits etc.
