Importing firearm part process

I have a part coming from Europe, should arrive Wednesday.

The sender has included my approved import permit in the package.

What will happen next? Does it just get delivered to my door or will it get held by customs?

If think the proper procedure would be to apply for important permit before ordering but good luck with that, tried twice a year apart and got no reply

Depends what it is. I had a Sako extractor come through Customs and NZ Post ok.
Other times you need to organise your own collection from Auckland Airport Customs, as NZPost refuse to deliver.

Um he said " the exporter has included Import Permit in the package"

I would think that they will write to you advising they have the packaged and requesting you send them the Import Permit (regardless of them having it in the package!!) at least thats been my experience.

Then you will need to arrange to somehow get it once released for delivery as NZ Post wont touch it even though they should just deliver it. Bunch of Woke Useless muppets11

Not hard to get an import permit. You must of done something wrong. But yes clearly said I already have one

Ok, it's a barrel stub extension thing. Not a massive deal for me to get from airport customs if that's the case. Would certainly be easier if it just got delivered door to door as that's the postage I've paid for. It's via UPS if that means anything

Ups will deliver direct to you, usually via aramex in NZ.
They will call/email you when the parts have landed and are released to them. You send them a copy of the 2nd import form that you got from the police (read the police email....), along with the password that opens the document. If that matches and stacks up with the docs that are on the package then they pass it on to aramex and eventually it will arrive.
Aramex will give zero shits about the package of course...they left mine just sitting on the front step.

Pretty much exactly this except didn't even get asked for my permit as I had the sender include it in the box.

Very easy straight to my door in 8 days from eastern Europe
