Thread: Importing firearm parts from the US

Apologies if this has been asked, a quick search yeilded nothing conclusive.

I want to import a couple of shotgun parts from the states. A magpul Stock set, and some accessories for that stock set from one website. Then a trigger unit, and some bolt parts from another. The trigger set is Under the $100 threshold so I should be ok there, but the stock set is $129, so I need a permit. The Internet is rife with errors and I am thoroughly confused now. One website I am looking at tells me I need a permit, others say I do not need a permit for shotgun parts.

So how do I go about getting a permit to import, and secondly I heard a rumor that I now need an import permit from the NZ police for any gun parts that are imported is this correct? Do i need an import permit for the trigger set even though its under the $100 mark? I can't get this shit here or I would buy it here.
