    Importing Magazine tube from overseas

    Hi everyone

I looking some advice, my son managed to lose the magazine tube from my Henry 45-70, this is obviously not a common part to get in NZ.

I've tried gun city but there pretty vague as to if they can help or timeframe.

So does anyone know of a place or person who could help with importing lever action parts?

Another question is is there any gunsmith's that could make one from scratch?

    Thanks for any help.

No permits needed for importing raw tube, either brass or steel drawn tube, subject to knowing the correct size. Any gunsmith worth his salt could then make up a new magazine tube. The range of cr-mo drawn steel tubing for aircraft is vast and can be purchased in short lengths from Aircraft Spruce in Aussie. Importing a new son might be a better option!

Its not just the tube, its the spring, stopper and locking nut at the top. But yeah still not a hard thing to make i thought. Unfortunately the first gunsmith i talked to wasn't keen

It might be worth a call (or email) to these guys, There is a .1% chance they might ship and then with an import permit from FSA? you would be in business.

No experience with a 45-70, let alone a Henry, so not sure if it will be suitable but I have an old mag tube for a .410 gauge Winchester 94 that you are welcome to.

No other parts sorry, and it has a crimp as it came of a gun originally from the UK.

PM me if investigations show it is a possibility.
