    Importing optics

    Hey fellas. For those who have imported optics (I'm looking into binos), how did you find it and are there any hidden costs that sting you? I understand gst might be a problem but have heard of things slipping through the cracks? I'm looking at going through Optics trade if anyone has had dealings with them, good or bad I'd be keen to hear. Cheers.

    You probably have less than a 5% chance of escaping paying GST plus the $50 odd biosecurity fee, if it's valued at over $400.

    Optics Trade has a good reputation from what I've read about them.

    and the GST is payable on the landed costs (ie includes freight)
