As long as the pistol is on "THE Approved List" you can import the parts.

Shortages and Panic Buying aside, Exporting Pistol parts out of the US is going to be the hard part.

Give the AO a call and they can advise you how to do this.

Unfortunately you AO most likely will not have a clue. If you get the permit an Brownells have what you want. You can order thru them and they will send you the required forms and you just complete them and return them to Brownells.They will sort the export paperwork on your behalf

Yep they will need an import order. Its pretty simple process just email or fax your AO with the details of each part (I just send a web link in an email from the site I was importing from).

If you are endorsed and the pistol is approved then you will get your import permit. 1911 and other pistol parts are imported all the time into NZ so AO will know what they are (or at least mine does).

Can take between a week to a month for the import order form to be processed and posted to you depending how busy they are.

I have had no trouble importing pistol parts including triggers, recoil springs etc. Just make sure the email states clearly what you are after and has an easy link for the AO to follow.

I found the biggest obstacle to importing was the Customs Office depending who was on duty it could take a while to be cleared by them. Some of the Customs guys have no clue what some parts are and others are very knowledgeable n helpful, 50/50 chance lol.
