    Importing a Thermal Scope - 50Hz - Export Controlled

I am looking at buying one of these !

Pulsar Quantum thermal imagers. Yukon Optics New Zealand.

The Quantum XQ50 is about NZD$4,400 in Europe.

Does anyone have any experience with bringing "export controlled" products into NZ - shipping to NZ from a European supplier.

What am I looking at for Duty and GST ??

    Thanks.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

So clearly you have decided that's the one to get ? and why ?
I have a demo XQ 38 coming to H&F chch city in about 3 weeks for me to try.
Should I be looking at the XQ 50 instead or as well ?
The XQ 50 demo was available sooner but I thought from my limited investigations that the 38 might have been the best option for my situation.

Yes, I took out a DEMO model (XQ50) out on Friday night - we could identify a deer vs. a bull at 300m. The XQ50 has the 4.1x optical which saves a bit of walking - I think the XQ38 is $6,400 and the XQ50 is $7,200 - NZ retail.

It was a bit scary walking over the brow of a hill and seeing a deer fill up about 80% of the image on the display - it was only about 30m away when it fell over !

OK Im guessing it " fell over" from lead poisoning then !
I will see if they can get me in the XQ 50 as well to compare with the 38.
There are plenty of deer around for me to try them out on and interesting about you being able to distinguish between the deer and domestic livestock.
