Getting some-one else to look at it is the answer, often a solvable problem can be right under you (or a couple of other peoples as well) nose but you don't see it. I bought a rifle off the forum years ago that wouldn't shoot - several people had had a go with it, a genuine "camp bitch". It was easily transformed (with about 3 scratches with a pocket knife) to a tack driver (sear was touching the stock).
Thats not always gonna happen but . . . . get someone to take a look
