Insulate Alluminum fore end of AR15

Hi all. Wondering if I could tap your collective experiences.

Have an Alluminum freefloat fore end / hand guard and it's cold as anything. Not fun for hauling around through the countryside.

Any suggestions before I get the ol bike and stretching it over.

    Chur Chur!

plasti dip. basicly gives it a rubber coating, a bit like the houge stocks.
or wrap it with some mcnett reusable tape. same as is used for bandages but in tacticool colours

Or put on a railed forend, so when you 'cheese grater' your hand/knuckles/fingers, the pain will keep them anywhere form tingly to searing warm.

The extra thin road bike bar tape does a very nice job.
Non slip and good insulation and won't suck up any water.

Thanks all. @dogmatix my preference is to keep my skin on and juices in. @res that sounds good I'll visit a bike shop.

The plasti dip would work really well. That stuff is so damn useful. It'll make heaps less mess than grip tape glue

Thanks. Thought of replacing it with a carbon fibre tube. Will check out the plastic dip!

This is what I use, unpick the stitching on the botom, just need to find the right diameter for your handguard, reminds me I need a new one ready for winter

Then I just saw something like this would be good

Carbon tube is the best solution buy far, have one on my 6.8 and no matter how cold it is its comfy. Just wish it had better grip.

Will investigate carbon tubes more. Looks like the way to go. Will have to epoxy it on. Maybe some bold tape for grip @res

I have been thinking of mixing some sand in paint putting that on mine to add grip with little extra weight
