Thread: Interested in people's thoughts on the 8mm mauser

Like most of the century or older military cartridges it will do the business as well as any of the newer inventions which are mostly developed from them anyway. Case design and better powders mean that you can match the performance in a smaller case often with less powder but not significantly so. I'm a big fan of the swede I don't think any of the new 6.5s offer much in the way of superior performance just convenience in shorter actions. Powder savings at around a cent a grain are a non event.
Use it, in that class there's not really anything better.
