Well here's a very interesting bit of info for you Ruger no1 and no3 fans

Here is a Wilber Huack single shot rifle circa 1950s
He applied for patent 1951 and it was approved 1956
There would seem to have been quite a number of his actions made and those finished by him range from standard grades to quite spectacular

This design is reputed to be what inspired and influenced Bill Ruger to design and build the No1 and No3 actions.

Gun writers always name check Farquharson for the action and Alexander Henry for the stock.

But it looks like Hauck deserves the lion's share of the credit for Ruger bringing a decent quality modern single shot falling block rifle to the masses
