I've done the bedding on all my centrefire rifles (some more than once...),
but I've never done a bedding job on any of my .22 rimfires throughout the years.
Why?.... I've never heard of anyone recommending it and so never really thought about doing it myself.
So is it worth doing to increase accuracy?
....Or is it a waste of time and effort?
My JW 11 came fully epoxy bedded when I bought it

Because of that I bedded my TOZ17.
To be honest I had the barrel chopped and ran a suppressor at the same time
It shoots well, I suppose the bedding is a part of that.
Depends on the 22 and ammo, if its shooting nice co consistent groups bedding will shrink them (and you can usually tell by playing a bit with action screw torques first.
So would your average JW-15 or Toz-17 (ie like @Frogfeatures) improve....or do you only see improvement with high-accuracy rifles?Quote:

I dont think the valur of the rifle comes into it. Ive had more 22s than you can poke a stick at, several higher end ones but mostly fairly modestly priced ones. The most accurate one Ive ever shot was the Krico 330 you recently sold, absolutely outstanding. The only one Ive bothered bedding is a stock standard Ruger 10/22 HB, it was in a Magpul stock and shot beaut round groups (proper test - 5x5 shot groups at 50M) of 12-15mm at 50M. I bedded it and after a bit more tuning it will now shoot in the 9-10mm range group after group ( when I'm up to it).
So yes, bedding a 22 is sometimes worth it.
what I mean is if you try your hand on a cheaper rifle first off.....you wont be in tears if you cock it up and need to redo it...
the humble .22lr is USUALLY the cheapest option in the cabinet....
