Jefferson Howa Mini Magazine / Floorplate

I’m interested in hearing from those that have the Jefferson Howa mini Magazine/ Floorplate .
How do you rate it , how does it perform ( feeding etc ) , quality of build ?
I have the option of buying a secondhand one here in OZ , but the cost even secondhand makes me wonder…..

I have to get a batch of chassis and some kimber chassis done then I'm on it. But might be ready for Xmas gifts.

The best thing I ever did to mine.
Only complaint is the little 223 can be a bit finicky to top load if you have sausage fingers bit it is so much better than the shitty plastic original mag and bottom "metal".
Makes it so much nicer to carry and use.

Found it hard to load in a hurry with one piece base. Went to Ruger with a decent size mag.

Very nice but bloody hard to load with big hands and fingers I found the magazine way better if trying to do it in a hurry

I have Talley mounts on mine for a little extra finger room, an I find tilting the rifle slightly to the right keeps the round where its easier to push down with my thumb.

If I'm hunting an area where I think I might need more than 5 shots, I switch back to the magazine set up.

Can you tip the Rifle over , open the floorplate , put rounds into the mag box and then close it ?

Have you thought of just doing the shortening mod on existing mags? Certainly cheaper and if you add
the bottom metal from Rob you also dont drop any mags. No carrying issues and no difficulty feeding!
Seems like a no brainer to me.

The extended length for reloaders is nice for the bottom metal.

The fit and finish is great, smooth loading but with the 223 and small ecjection port a bit fiddlely to top load. Only way to go if you want to effectively load heavy pills and have a nice carry point.

Fingers crossed that at some point, someone makes a decent aftermarket detach mag that takes a longer OAL. @robhughes-games

Maybe it could look a little like that.... Except I've gone away from the carbon mag idea for now..
