Thread: JW103 - Shortened mag - who has done this?

I've seen a couple of Norinco Jw103 owners refer to shortening their 5 shot mags to 3 shot so that they can flush mount them.
I've so sick of it digging into my shoulder when carrying the rifle.
Keen to give it a go - or get it done if it requires super engineering skills.

Anyone shed some light on this?

my 7.62x39mm came with a 3 and a 5 shot mag...the 3 is simple...they have cut the base off...shortened the box the spot weled/tigged the bottom back onto the sides......the 5 never gets used...3 in the mag and one up the spout.....most times the ones in the mag have stayed there as a single round does the job LOL.

Thanks guys - I'm going to investigate doing a cut and weld. Drives me nuts digging into my shoulder when carrying it. And 3x rounds is way enough.
