Every motorcycle,4wd,moutain bike,and car I have owned the springs sagged or "sacked out" to some degree, my LN106 front springs were the worst, tried various expensive aftermarket ones and after a year they were sagged, getting them reset usually got another 6-8 months out of them.

Basicly it comes down to design, if the spring is being worked right up to its elastic limit it will sag,bet your familys life on it, if it is being worked well under its elastic limit it should last indefinitely.

Is your particular magazine spring or firing spring being worked to its elastic limit? I have no idea but on a modern firearm I doubt it. :)

Exactly. I know that most semi 22's will not cycle subsonic ammo out of the box but after a fair but of use or being stored with the bolt open they will. This logically indicates to me that they are being worked above their elastic limit and that the least compression over time they are subjected to the least quickly they will get to a point where they need replacement springs.

my guess would be that over time they will get weaker from use why else would you need replacement springs for firearms cars trucks motor bikes etc personaly I don't leave my firearms cocked and in storage
