Thread: Kimber Montana Mag box and follower

Any chance anyone has a montana or similar in short action they arent using that would be kind enough send me it to take some measurements/maybe take a mould off. Unfortunately I'm one of the poors and only have hunters.

Happy to cover shipping back and fourth and some beer money.

I have a kimber one floating round that Ill measure if I can find it

You swapped the whole remington box and follower? I've heard the follower was the same but never the mag box.

I heard that the 308 rem follower was an upgrade so I tried a 223 one and it’s perfect
I’ll pull one of my montanas and measure that what measurements are you after

I think I need one hands on as i was going to make a mold of it but I appreciate it.

So the 223 magazine fit the stock too. Thats good to know as if i make the mould m8ne isnt limited to factory stocks but it would be good to make it suit as i could make a couple extras for people.

Does anyone happen to have a Remington 700 magazine and follower then?

That’s the 223 rem 700 mag box sitting on the 308 kimber so it appears iv used the rem follower in the kimber mag box in the 223

There’s a bit going on complexity wise on the top of the mag box so it might pay to copy one in person like you are saying as my measurements are not to be trusted
