Yes.. technically you could order it now but I'd like to get the first batch cleared first before a run of takedown/ switch barrels.

Handled one today. These are a superbly built kiwi product and will be very popular.
@Wingman - have you considered doing a future run of the chassis in a magnesium alloy?
It's a super product already but the additional weight saving would take it to another level.
Short answer yes... watch this space.
For those that want the lightest set up we do there is a list of upgrades like this including a Titanium cap screw kit and additional lightening to the action, bolt, barrel and scope rings.
Is there an option for more of a handguard? As in longer/wraps around the barrel. I understand the weight saving from a minimalist handguard but definitely prefer having something to hang onto or rest on expedient support.
Yes eventually a 4 slot M-lok .. just add picatinny rails and your choice of any AR rail covers.
How much you ask ???? But wait theres more yeah yeah You tease ::
Saw this in the flesh today, @Wingman you've done a magnificent job on it!
I totally get the micro action thing and think this is a cool gun, is there any plans to do a normal short action size gun so we can shoot some of the more normal deer calibers. A 22-250 and 308 switch barrel would be sweet.
Nice to meet many of you today and I look forward to catching up with more of you tomorrow. Be sure to get a confirmation email through to info@shooterready.co.nz if you did want to grab one of the few chassis builds left we will work through the emails early next week when we get back to the workshop and first in first served. We are happy to ship nation wide.
No not at this stage. The short action is the same as any remington and tikka action length out there and plenty of companies already make chassis for them.
This was always only going to be a mini action lightweight focused project.
Short actions are heavier to start with so get very little positive gains from an ultralight chassis. Recoil becomes a factor in ultralights so the bigger the cartridge the harder they are to shoot well.
There is just a handful of bare chassis left after the Sika show so flick an email through to the shop if you would like one.
Thought about doing one to suit a Kimber 84m action? They are lighter than the howa mini action and take all the 308 based cases. Hunter models are pretty affordable as a base rifle. Also wondering what you are expecting for cost to setup as a takeoff barrel and whether you can do it with a factory barrel or whether it requires rebarrelling.
The kimber actions are a med action and about twice the price of a howa mini action. In todays market it seems a stretch for 99% of my customers to even afford the Howa barreled actions. My goal was also to keep this an affordable package so many actions were ruled out early.
The Howa .450 bushmaster has the .308 bolt face and can cope with all the BR and dasher length cases.
If there is enough demand, the take down barrels will be done on the factory barrels.
Cost will be about $350 extra on the build but includes shortening threading and lightening with the carbon sleeve system.
@Wingman when you say bare chassis that is without the stock correct?
No, the lightweight carbon fiber stock is included
Cheers mate, yes.. the carbon butt stock comes complete with the chassis.
I need to hold one.
Anyone want to buy and Excl chassis?
Yes it is all made in NZ. I had considdered just using Sig stocks but figured I can do better cost wise and make it lighter at the same time. The butt stock only weighs about 200 grams which is a 3rd of the weight of my of the Sig stocks.

It's a Howa mini action, which is in the Wingman Chassis, that's the 300blk barrel that came with it, and there's a 223 and a 204 barrel also. ODL titanium can on the 300, and the ODL 223 can fits the other 2 barrels.
Backlanz bipod.
Nice light set up.
Remove the front action torx bolt, then under that a 3mm allen key to undo the switch barrel locating grub screw, and change barrels. It's about a 3-minute job.
They work a treat ;)

Cracks me up that I have been reading this thread since the start but had no idea I had one in the safe :D
Hard to tell from Gibos picture but have you extended the fore end a bit since Mk1 @Wingman?
Thanks for that clarification @Wingman. You have made my mind up.
I too am now a proud owner of an elude chassis ...and what a piece of kit it is !!
You have done an incredible job @Wingman !

I have a few bits and pieces on the drawing board and waiting for a few parts but plan on a barrel shave to 11in on the grendel which will make it many inches shorter than factory barrel even with suppressor fitted as in pic and SOOO light not even going to feel it on a sling.

Go for it @Preacher , you'll be the envy of all who handles it....
What is a ballpark figure for complete rifle in 300black
Can someone quote a weight?
