    Krico semi automatic .22

I have not so recently acquired a Krico semi auto .22.. I don't know the model number? I believe it is one that can be made to work as a single shot

I had a busy summer and it sat in the back of the cabinet for a number of months. Last week I topped it off with a Leupold 2-7 VX1 and Leupold mounts.

I took it down the back paddock and fired 3x groups. I'm not a great shot but this thing is a real tack driver. It is on par with my CZ452 and better than my JW15a. I didnt measure them but they were all around the size of my thumbnail at 50m.
    A good result I thought...

Was having some trouble with the magazine (5 shot) that came with the rifle. The first shot would fire and the spent case would jam above the round that was being loaded. This was only for the first shot. The next four are faultless.

I fluked another mag from shooters supplies in chch and tried this. It would not load a single round. The tip of every round is sitting too low in the mag and not feeding into the hole when the action is cycled.

My Questions to you wise people...

What is the model number for this wonderful rifle?
How do I activate it to make it a single shot?
Does anyone have any ideas/experience in relation to fixing the feeding issues?

    Cheers

You might have success altering the angle of the feed ramp (if it has one?)

By that do you mean the plate that the rounds sit on?

What about opening up the top "flanges" on the mag so the next bullet can sit a little bit higher?

You will have to be careful not to open them too far.
ALSO IT MAY NOT BE ADVISABLE TO DO. Just a farmers way of trying to fix it. (I have a Marlin 22 and did this to improve one of the magz).

Im not familar with the Krico sorry.

    Hey man,

Just did a bit of a search to find out what the Krico is like. This is what I found, tell me if it helps.

    Thanks mate,

Yeah it is similar but not identicle to the one in the photos on that link. The action looks the same but the stock is straighter style

I have a mid70's Krico SemiAuto in .22LR. On mine you go to single shot by pushing the 'bolt' across to the left once the shell is loaded. The bolt then 'locks' and prevents the rifle from auto loading.
