Thread: Laser range finder reccomendation

im looking ti upgrade my Leupold 1200. The sig kilo that is over $2k is too much. I was looking at the Vortex 4000 if anyone has any feedback on that, or any reccomendations...
After one that can range long distances

The sig sauer kilo2400bdx can be had for $1399. Can be paired with the krestel 5700 elite or apparently used with the weatherflow wind meter. @Sarvo had good deals on Leica range finders to. Unsure if he still has any?

Yes - still can get 2400-R and the 2800com and also the new 3500com which I have not trialed as yet

I don’t have one myself but my next will be a Leica. Top glass and fast ranging as @MSL said

Just reading up on the sig kilo... it seems it provides dial up within its viewing field? As in it contains software?

Yes, only the kilo2400bdx. The Leica 2800com and 3500com also have this same feature. Cheers

2800.com = $1345 my price - which is near $600 below retail
But I predict retail will drop soon as the 3500.com will take over

Has anyone used the Leica when it produces the range utilising its internal barometer etc? Would that mean you would use a zero value in your shootung app for pressure and altitude?

If you use the Leica ballistic app I’m sure it will allow for this, you’ll just need to dial wind. Someone maybe able to correct me with this?

Yes, best combination for hunting. Small size, light, not too much tech but the right amount.

Have the 2700 not the dot.com model (the bluetooth function on the dot.com is mainly for guys who want to 'true', shoot one at 100 and one around 500 to confirm drop based on environmental/atmospheric conditions)

On a .270 with the ballistic app it is spot on. Won't ever shoot further than 900m while hunting (any further range and Leica won't provide shot drop data) so perfect for me.

Helps to be familiar with a dial scope and reticle (make sure you are on meters/Mil/Mil or yards/Moa/moa, the Leica has all the settings you need for any combination but you don't really want to be ranging in yards and dialling in mils on an Moa ret)
