Cool Lee Enfield mk3 and parker hale safari deluxe

    G'day I'm after info on 2 things.
    1. I have a mk3 lee Enfield, my top receiver bridge/scope mount is tilted forward a miniscule causing the lugs to touch making it impossible to remove bolt. Will it be safe to use a hammer and whack it back 0.005mm or will it be safe to split bridge.

    2. I have a parker hale safari deluxe 30-06 7mm08 I'm in need of a bolt assembly complete if anyone has one or a Mauser 98 bolt complete id be a grateful customer

I wouldn't be wacking the scope mounts with a hammer, maybe some judicial filing of the mount. Need pics for clarity.
    I'm confused, is it a 3006 or a 7mm-08?
Try Graeme Champion CAC for a bolt.
He may have one. I got one several years back for my PH

So it's the charger guide that's bent so that when the bolthead is flipped up it catches coming out? Find where it's binding and file it would be my suggestion.
I'm still intrigued by the "dual calibre" safari though

Maybe try SAI in Penrose for a bolt - it's where I got one a while ago.

Thats the wrong bolt for a mk111, that's an earlier "longtom" type with the dust cover retaining lugs. I'm surprised someone even managed to get it in past the charger bridge in the first place!

Tony is right, that the wrong bolt for that rifle. Even if you get it past the charger guide it wouldnt lock up anyway I would have thought. Dont shoot the damn thing anyway.

Yeah, looks like a MLE bolt in a SMLE.
    Disaster waiting to happen.

I've got a few bolts, but they aren't just plug and in and play, need to check the bearing surfaces for contact and then headspace it.

He is talking about the 303 bolts I reckon.
Have you checked the places myself and others have mentioned first?
You seem to be repeating the same question over all the time on different threads.
You will be looking for a mauser 98 bolt and unless you are really lucky when it gets checked for headspace by a gunsmith, you will either have to get it reamed slightly or worst case the barrel tenon might have to be set back and most likely reamed to suit as well.
Unless you really like it and the barrel is mint you could be upwards of between 100 and 200 bucks for a bolt and probably no less than 150 for the barrel stuff unless it headspaces correctly.
So worst case could be over 400 bucks.
Best case is what it costs you for a bolt and whatever the headspace check costs

Yes sorry my apologies for my lack of detailed terminologies. For my smle mk3* it seems to have had a no4 barrel with an mle bolt to suit, yes I should take it in as mentioned but for a mechanically minded person like myself I have set out to prove to myself what I am capable off, if I am not 100% positive I have assembled, spaced etc I will take it in to a reputable gunsmith but for now I am testing my capabilities. For my parker hale a bolt head respaced will be a simple but important task for me.
