It could be done but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it I did the opposite when looking at 17 and went the hornet instead it was a challenge to get an accurate load sorted I use it for med range rabbits hares and magpies also shot goats with it as well I've got 2 hornets one day one might get made into a 17 Ackley
