Some companies in their advertising say VX3 4.5-14x40.
Some say VXIII 4.5-14x40
Leupold on their site say VX3. The scope however has on it in the "gold" band VXIII.
Surely its all the same thing and just the result of some drunkeness correspondence between marketing and engineering
or are there actually two different versions (Older or maybe Newer)
of the same thing. If thats the case anyone know what the differences could be ?

VX3 is the latest model from the previous VX-III. It has the better lens coatings and few other improvements. Which is again different from the original (older) Vari-X III.

It never ceases to amaze me how you fellahs know this stuff about riufles and scopes. I am definitely in the minority with my "pick it up, use it, put it away approach"
