@Beetroot you won't be disappointed. The glass alone is better and zero lock is the real bonus, as I only hunt with pop caps and found the old vx6 would move off zero every so often

I just bought a VX6 before the VX5HD was released.
I'm pretty happy with the VX6 clicks, so the VX5 should be pretty nice (this isn't a 2kg tactical scope).

How much better is the glass? The glass on the VX6 (non HD) is already awesome to my eyes.
What reticle have you gone for?
Trying to decided whether I sell the VX6 or send it away to get the ZL2 turret installed.

@Beetroot in real life hunting you might not notice to much really. It's meant to have diffrnt argon gas and twilight lens coating. My first impression was sharper and clear. I've gone for duplex as on the last vx6 I had fine duplex but on darker animals it was hard to line up and see where the x hair was in some cases. I'm not target hunter and would of liked the windplex but didn't want to wait. Also the 29moa was like a Xmas tree. To busy.

Is the centre part of the duplex cross hair just as fine as the Fine duplex centre cross hair? or is the posts and cross hair both thicker on the Duplex?

Just ordered a 3-15x44 with firedot reticule. Solves the issue of not being able to see the x hairs in low light against a dark background.

@Shearer out of interest if you don't mind where and cost did you get yours. I wanted to stay away from a illuminated scope as my 300 kept turning the nightforce on after every shot from the muzzle brake

A windpled firedot would be perfect for the 2-10 or 3-15.

Yeah, shame they don't do these in the VX-5, only in the old VX-6

    Cheers!

A search on Bing for VX5HD vs VX6HD and this was the first hit! blast form the past but still relavent.
Nice little review and yup its hard to justify 1k for VX6HD. Didnt stop me buying one, but I might add add a VX5 this time.
