Leupold screw on Dials (SOD)
Here is the spiel from leupy.....
Designed to replace the cap covers on the majority of Leupold’s riflescopes, these all-aluminum dials offer large, knurled surfaces so adjustments are easy and sure, even when wearing gloves. The S1 dial is engraved in ¼-MOA increments and the S5 in 0.1 MIL. Both come with a locking zero stop and can be equipped with the Custom Dial System[emoji768] (CDS[emoji768]) through the Leupold[emoji768] Custom Shop.
There’s no need to send in the riflescope, as these dials are completely user-changeable. Just remove the cap on the adjustment dial, and simply screw the S1 or S5 on in its place. It automatically aligns with the adjustment slot and securely tightens down. Unlike other aftermarket dials, the Leupold S1 and S5 dials completely eliminate backlash.
I have fitted a few of these caps now (in the .250 moa per click model) and they work, and work very well, its great not having to send scopes away and the downtime that creates.
The instructions are clear and precise

They retail around $179
This quick solution to a normally time consuming problem means more time for Hunting !!!

I have been testing it on a factory model 7 in 7mmsaum, 140bt@3200fps, 19 inch barrel.
Its dialling well to 1000yrds -so theres usable life in those old VX-1 Leupolds !!!!!
Ps: i had a very early VX-1 here a month ago and this dial system did not fit it, the slot in the scopes elevation shaft was too low for the cap to drive into, so it seem only the later VX-1 scopes benefit from this system, and every other later VX model.
