    Leupold sunshade - what length?

After a sunshade for my 40mm objective scope. Looking on leupold it's either a 2.5 or 4 inch length
    Anyone have experiences with either?

Longer would better I'm guessing, but does that then affect the amount of light in scope, but then again I'm using because of too much sun eh?

Won't be on scope full time just as required.
Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

Running one on my Leupold EFR 6.5 - 20 x 40 on a competition gun, works a treat for me. You'd want to remove the scope hood at dusk / very low light if you're not using much magnification, get as much light into it as possible. But mine stays on the whole time.

Only on my long range rifles. I have one that is 100mm and one that is 50mm. Both work well and I can't tell the difference between them.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
