    Leupolds and aluminas

Just a quick pole for everyone with the combo are yours timed correctly? My front one is terrible really pisses me off for it to be pointing up and down where it should be it’s bloody loose no risk of loosing it as it can’t unwind with the scope mounted as it hits the barrel not the end of the world but a piss off all the same

I thought the flip part of the alumina cover could rotate independent of the threaded section that attaches to the scope? It takes an age, but if you hold the knurled section tight as it is attached to the scope, you can make incremental rotations of the flip part. All you do then is twist, align, twist align until it is removed.

I'm sure I've done this on the alumina caps I have had, and definitely done it on the Swaro caps when there was not enough clearance between scope and barrel.

It’s pissed me off for 3 months now of corse I didn’t bother consulting uncle google or reading the manual when it went on the saum I thought it was a rotation short of tight but couldn’t tighten because of barrel and didn’t want to take scope off again and now iv put it on the .308 I tried to tighten while off rifle and the timing appeared out it certainly wasn’t obvious
