@gimp did a tracking test on a MK5. Didn't perform so well - tracked off the vertical. He sent it back to be fixed from what I recall.

Have a look on the optics section of the "24 hour campsite" forum - Leupold are being slammed for their tracking.

Yes, so I have been reading, about the tracking I mean and not just there.
I remember his issues now you've mentioned , It was fixed though I believe.I found one in Broncos the x25 and saw the price they were asking.
I think I'll stick with what I have.

Gimp has a Mark 6, these were notorious for tracking issues.
The new Mark 5HD appears to have a far better track record thus far.

I have the Mk6, the reticle was canted from factory so it didn't track straight, it was fixed under warranty and I have no problems with it, there is nothing else on the market that I would buy in preference, but for a little extra weight (and harder to find 35mm rings) the Mk5 would be good.

@greghud and his daughter has one each on their new rifles, i have shot a fair bit (at 100yds) and they are awesome glass, hasn't been shot (yet) further than it, however, they are at the hands of a "specialist" handloader for load development, he will be shooting it at least at 600meters then…
    Great scopes on "my" opinion...

    More info as they come…

@jakewire, we have one in stock at Custom Guns in Invercargill if it help depending where you are in NZ...
