I tried to find out how far a projectile drops if fired exactly horizontal but didn't have a lot of luck my guess is a bit less than half the total adjustable. Use an angled base and you will get a bit back. Will probably get you to 1000yds though.
@shaka help the midget out.
Now Phil ,
if you had proper turrets that would be about 5.1 maybe .2 odd mil,
I dunno anything about the vx6 but that can't be right surely?:)
My math must be wrong.
You can now get a Zero Lock turret that will give you 2 rotations, advertised as 38moa.
You forgot how many fathoms that would be.
6 feet
Damned if I know how many mil that is though.
When I'm driving up the river , and the wirehair can run though it
without swimming its 14 inches.
Cheers Beetroot, I went looking in the Leupy Q&A section on their website & found this -

On the VX6 3-18x50 CDL-ZL Once zeroed and set do you only get 1 full 20 MOA rotation of the CDS-ZL dial before it stops or can you go past it?

Hello,
Due to the Zero Lock (ZL) feature of the VX-6 CDS-ZL adjustment, there will only be one rotation of the dial that offers 19 MOA of elevation adjustment. If more adjustment is desired, a VX-6 CDS-ZL 2-Turn dial option is available for retrofit to existing scopes through the Leupold Custom Shop that will allow 38 MOA of elevation adjustment.
Best Regards..
Dont fit the zero lock when putting the new Turret on
