    LEver rifle tube magazine capacity?

    Hi Team,

I'm toying with the idea of a lever rifle, for fun/enjoyment more than serious hunting etc.
Before I fork out money however, I just want to confirm what the limit is on tube(magazine) capacity?
If I'm reading the legislation correctly, it is limited to 10 rounds MAX, regardless of caliber/cartridge?
Shotguns are limited to 5, and rimfire and centrefire are limited to 10?
Thanks in advance for your input!

That is correct, not many hold more than 7 unless you get something long barrelled in a pistol caliber. And if you do go down that road they can be a bit muzzle heavy with the full mag.

Winchester 94 and Marlins in .30/30 will hold six in the mag. Rossi 92 carbines in .44 mag or .357 will hold ten in the mag.

If its just for fun there are some good .22 lever actions around. Cheap to feed and will scratch the itch.

I should have read this advice last year before I bought a brand new lever action with the latest easy throw, blah,,, blah,,, and i got sucked into it
use it for maybe 10 min max then just sit inside the tin since.

Rossi octagonal rifles hold 12 in .357, maybe other variations- I've made a few extended followers for them.
There's lots of tube mag rifles lying around that don't comply. Quite a few listed on TM from time to time. When some kind soul points out that it may not comply, he gets 'but it's a bolt (or pump or lever) action, not a semi!
Bit like the folks still shooting steel through their old full choke shotties, not everyone has 'availed' themselves of the information.
