    Light weight bipods?

    Hi all,

I’m after some advise on light weight bipods.

Is there anything that is similar to the harris style, ideally swivelling, 9”-13” roughly that is a bit lighter?

I was looking at the carbon bush buck one as an option for my wife’s rifle but they only seem to be about 20 grams lighter than the harris equivalent. Has anyone tried one?

    Cheers,
    Jamie

Which Harris? The 1A2 is much lighter than the more common one SLM?

Every body is trying to reinvent the wheel.
It's a bit like the tikka rifles, relatively cheap light and they work.
The Harris bipod are the same.
Simple effective reasonably priced not to heavy and they work.
The notched leg models with the podlock are for me. They do every thing I need quickly and simply and are sturdy to boot.
I have 6 now as I hate taking them on and off my rifles.
    My two cents.

Backlanz is the lightweight hunting solution in my books. My mates ones are awesome. Crazy how light they are and I like the design and system. New version 2 looks even better. Love my simple non swivel harris with knotched legs too though, it just works well. If someone could just buy my jacket for sale in the buy/sell section then I can finally buy my own backlanz

I have a bushbuck carbon, you are quite right they are not much if any lighter than a harris light weight.
Certainly it does the job and is very serviceable (Spikes would be a nice upgrade on them).
If you want truly light weight then backlanz or javelin are the way to go and there are pros and cons for both which have been extensively covered in multiple threads on this forum.

+1 for the Backlanz, they weigh as much as a pair of silk nickers
It takes 20 barrels of water to make 1 barrel of beer...
