Depends, the old orange slip ons were proper rubber and in time go sticky and perish due to oxidation.
Modern neoprene or urethane ones dont perish but can be affected by solvents like xylene and the esters found in powder solvents that drag the plasticisers used to make them soft to the surface making them sticky.

Year I read about these they look good is that the sc100? Not worried about shaping as the whole stock is getting cut from a blank!

So blank canvas if you like

Have you considered a Pachmayr decelerator? I have one and they work well seem to be more durable than the others as well.

Yer nar I'd like to keep the weight down a bit. Also it's a really nice bit of walnut so I don't want to lose to much in the cut...do you have a link so I can have a look? Do the add much weight at the stock end?

Can't help you with the weight sorry Doesn't feel heavy to me. I bought the top of the line slip on one so I did not have to alter my Mauser.
    Here's the Link, http://pachmayr.com/home/

Cheers thanks I'll order one of each over the Internet and send back what I don't like
I'm leaning toward the kick ez at present.
Not a fan of the slip on ones.

I got one of the flash airtech Limbsavers for my stock, and highly rate it - but haven't tried the others mentioned for comparison.

Have a few Limbsavers on other rifles, but nothing that really boots. Or perhaps they don't boot because of the Limbsaver.
The limb savers have all gone sticky. Don't know what causes it but it is very annoying.
Would probably go with kick eez based on that.
Anyone know causes the rubber to turn sticky?
petroleum based products ?? maybe something in your cleaning products maybe could be doing it ?

It will be the cleaning products. I stored any firearms with the soft recoil pads barrel down to prevent this.

I store all mine this way it stops any oil from leaching into the walnut which can cause corrosion in the long run.
Happened on my pigeon grade Winchester

How much cleaning product/oil do you leave on the bloody things?
