    Lining a safe

    Looking to line a large safe that @40mm put in for me over the weekend. It's painted steel on the inside walls and floor. It's an 800kg thumper of a combo fire/security safe, so would be very temperature stable.

    I've seen some synthetic stuff sticking to and marring blued finishes, and would like to avoid that.. Had considered marine carpet/astroturf/lino or similar glued to the floor and walls, but I'm nervous for steel buttplates, muzzles resting against the walls etc. Also untreated thin timber paneling came to mind, pros and cons of that?

    Any other options to consider?

    9mm untreated ply glued on. Won't be able to hurt anything you intend to store in there.

    I have a big roll of artificial grass (non smoking type) plus a smaller roll of whitish felt that was wrapped round our couch during shifting. I used the former in my safe, but glued wooden rails with dowels to hold rifles prior to fitting the carpet.
    You’re welcome to take both lots if any help. You know where I live.

    White would be nice to make it easier to see inside the safe. It's a bit of a cavern

    Reckon that stuff will hold up to various gun goos that it might come in contact with? Seen some horror shit when guns get stored in cases with foam lining
    @300CALMAN ?

    Try getting some felt, use something like the ados contact adhesive to glue it down.
