Thread: Locking a AR-15 collapsible stock

Is there a way to "lock" a collapsible AR-15 stock so it can collapse a little bit but not fully? (For an sbr to not go less than 762mm)

Yes.

I used a section of plumbers pipe. Cut to correct length and put in stock. Easy.

Slide stock off, cut a bit of this pipe the right length,
Drop it inside stock, put stock back on buffer tube.

Right length was about 50mm.

Or a piece of dowel in the back of the stock. Wrap it with electrical tape so it fits snug and push it in.

A small hole and a roll pin through the stock to contact the back of the buffer tube also works, esp on the sorts of stock which don't have a blind hole
