    A long wait . . . 4.5 years!

How long would you wait for a rifle? Gunsmiths can take a long time with projects, 2 years isn't unheard of . . . and then there was old Din, bless him he might be 2 years plus!

A collector might take a fair while for the right rifle etc to come up, and parts from overseas can be the same, I think I waited nearly 3 years to get a special Mauser bolt

But I have set a new record for me at least - yup brought a rifle in the UK in Sept 2019 and received it today, so 4.5 years near enough! Just after I bought it Covid happened and the world fell to bits, the travel restrictions killed most flights including the few that can fly firearms to NZ. So 3 import permits (they expire after a year) and about $1500 plus some help from various forumites later its in hand and luckily exactly as I was hoping for.

Barrel and stock are mint but the rifle is not collector grade (been threaded and glass bedded) so I can legitimately hack it if I choose! And it will get hill miles, that always purifies the safe queens!

You can't post something like this without any pictures! I want to see what rifle is worth waiting 4.5 years for.

Yeah, it's like saying I saw some side boob at the park but no pictures (with consent of course!)

A Weatherby Varmintmaster in 22-250. Reason for the wait, it's a mini size action with a .473 bolthead and just long enough for the 22-250 and it's cousins/great grandchildren like 6x47Lap etc.

Well it's quite understated for a Weatherby

Nice. Is that the original forend/stock? Friend Jeff will be drooling.

It is original I think but it's a bit different from the usual Wetherbys with white line spacers etc and the foreend tip is also a funny shape . .,

Little bit of side-sock just to tease you @blip I'm sure he wouldn't mind posting a pic if you need to see the whole thing.

Obviously you're a very patient person @Tentman. Glad it all worked out for you, finally.

Don't think you can say it's patience when it is out of your control. Dating a religious lady and waiting til yah married... now that's patience lol
