I'm surprised you are still looking, you would think this would be a dream job for some people.

If you're ever interested in training someone up I'll be all over you like an uncomfortable rash. My lathe and mill skills are pretty basic, and my CNC skills are limited to operating and basic set up Learning Solidworks is certainly helping with designing my own suppressors though.

    Dream job one day *sigh*

Understandable. It's definitely a trade where experience counts for a lot.

If your candidate is unemployed, it is possible, just possible there's some funding support that whilst it doesn't help get the work out the door, it helps you justify the time you invest to bring them up to speed. The unemployed get a bad rap at times but there are some stars out there.

Good point but there is no way I could do that as I just don't have the time.
I need someone that is years of experience, I did have a "qualified" gunsmith on trial, he only lasted 4 days after he marked a few barrels and damaged one.

Its got to be done right when working with peoples expensive toys.

I'm thinking young Toby. I know the man wants experience but this would be right up @Toby 's avenue. Living in Hamilton would also put him close to the source of the King of Beers as well.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

You haven't been 20 years old for at least a couple of twenty years
