I love my MK2. Deep bluing, investment cast receiver and polished stainless bolt, great 3 pos safety. Well made and accurate rifle after a bit of fettling (pillar bedded stock).

Yea I’ve had a mk2 paddle stock 308 for years and absolutely love them. So well built and dependable and can’t beat the ruge rscope points I reckon.

Never found mine that heavy but I’m used to carrying around a marlin 30-30 as well.

Mines been dead accurate sub moa with no fiddling around just torque the screws properly

Off topic, but 4 of us spent a week in that hut in 1967. A bit crowded sleeping! One guy on the floor, 2 guys top to tailed on one bunk, and one guy with a bunk to himself. We rotated each night. Single bunk was bliss, other arrangements not so.

The rifle I should not have sold. My first left handed bolt was a Mk11 Ruger in 270win which I owned for 20 years. It was my only center fire for that time. Later in life it got a new barrel from True Flight (24" stainless fluted). Have some great hunting memories involving that rifle.

I have a wooden stock one in 308. I also have a Howa 1500 with the hogue stock which groups accurately but the ruger feels so much better in hand. Not hard I guess when pitted against a bulky feeling hogue stock.
