Who has a ruger m77 mk2 and why do you love it
I love my MK2. Deep bluing, investment cast receiver and polished stainless bolt, great 3 pos safety. Well made and accurate rifle after a bit of fettling (pillar bedded stock).
Beautiful rifles some of them but fark me they are heavy
best stainless out there.have had 2 of them, still have a paddle stock in flamethrower .270 what a beast!
1986 carneys bivvy in the havelock...timber blued .308 win..first ever solo thar / chamois tripAttachment 268771
Yea I’ve had a mk2 paddle stock 308 for years and absolutely love them. So well built and dependable and can’t beat the ruge rscope points I reckon.
Never found mine that heavy but I’m used to carrying around a marlin 30-30 as well.
Mines been dead accurate sub moa with no fiddling around just torque the screws properly
Ruger scope mounts*
A mauser action left hand, what's not to love?
Love my ruger paddle stock 270.stainless is unbeatable only thing that has marked it was battery acid and even those marks have polished off.guns been so filthy iv taken it in the shower with me after a hunt.
Doesn’t worry it
The rifle I should not have sold. My first left handed bolt was a Mk11 Ruger in 270win which I owned for 20 years. It was my only center fire for that time. Later in life it got a new barrel from True Flight (24" stainless fluted). Have some great hunting memories involving that rifle.

I have a wooden stock one in 308. I also have a Howa 1500 with the hogue stock which groups accurately but the ruger feels so much better in hand. Not hard I guess when pitted against a bulky feeling hogue stock.
I’ve got a limited edition, M77 basket weave, in .358 win, love it, very accurate, nice balance and weight.
Dumps game like a hot Dam, 225 gr soft point at 2450.
It’s in NZ, I am back in the cold, in Canada, will look for a photo tonight, once home, there was 3 Come into Canada, on a special order,
Love my mk2 Rugers, treat them a bit rough though,( put away wet etc), never a spec of rust .
Have one in 7mmsaum (will post a pic when I finish checkering the stock).
Almost time to head to the range with this one.
Rebarreled to 22 creedmore . 1 in 7 twist 19".
Weight is 7.5 lbs incl scope.
One in 7x57 would be nice
223, 243 and 300 win mag. They heavy but love the half bolt and they come up good. Lighter than the brno 308.
@Shootm you still have yours?
I have one in 7 x 57, bought in in Blenheim 15 years ago, hardly used it except for a tahr hunt last year, hope to use it on a sika hunt this roar.
Now i am close to retirement it’s time to do more hunting
This guy likes them a lot: (skip to 30 min mark where he talks about the Ruger 77's he uses in .308)

Shot my first deer with one of these. Wouldn't mind one of the scout rifles one day.
I’ve had a couple of MK2 Rugers first one was .308 and then a 7mm rem mag both paddle stocks. I now only have one Ruger a 7x57 MK1. Been looking for a paddle stock MK2 in 308 though, should never have sold the 308
