Thread: Magnum vs Standard DPT on 284

On a 284 the standard DPT is totally fine.

I put a mk1 magnum on mine as with my 17 inch barrel the rear of the magnum dpt came right back to just a couple of mm's off the forend which i like the look and balance of. No other reason.

The mk 1 magnums are just a standard suppressor with an extra tube section extending it rearward.

I dont really think you will notice an difference in reduction of sound or recoil going to the magnum.

But if you put an extra baffle or two on the front of either it will both reduce sound and recoil.
