Thread: Magnum vs Standard DPT on 284

Lockdown finish’s soon and I’m about to set up my new (second hand) 284

I now have 2 suppressors. DPT M1 Magnum with stainless baffle and DPT M2 standard.

The M2 was set up light for my 7mm08 bushpig but I’m wondering whether to just use it also on the 20inch 284 to keep light and short. I’ve gone with Talley rings and soon to get a VX3 CDS so it will be nice and portable. Rock kindly gave me some 162 ELDX handloads doing about 2700 and I have some 139 Hornadys loaded up also

I’m not overly worried about recoil and don’t target shoot hundreds of rounds

What are the benefits of the Magnum suppressor - Significantly more noise and recoil reduction, longer life etc?

Just a question as I’ll probably keep both but once I sight in I’ll stick with the same one to avoid change in POi as the magnum is a little heavier
