Can you get flush fit mags for the howa minis?

No easy enough to shorten one up so it’s ever so slightly proud which is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t get in the way
Or the other option is an aftermarket folding floor plate style
I have both in the safe my grendel has the jefferson outdoors bottom metal
I have a mates 223 at the moment and that has the shortened factory mag
I can post photos of both if you want @Longrun

Yep, still got 2x 6x45's. 6ARC sounds amazing, but it's not going to give me bugger all above the x45 to consider changing. If I were to start again I might give it a go for curiosity in a Howa Mini.

That 223 was going to have a jefferson aswell but after seeing mine and trying the cutdown mag (4 shot)
He decided that it wasn’t worth the money
The jefferson costs a good % of the cost of the hole rifle

The cut down mag is free apart from some time and effort

The Grendel I like the jefferson but if I went back i probably wouldn’t have bothered
I do love traditional looking rifles hence importing a walnut stock and spending the cash on bottom metal

Thanks to Delta Mikes bolt action sale I’m now the owner of a Howa Mini barrelled action in 6.5Grendal. Cut down and strapped into one of those Elude chassis’s is its future.
It’s a karma thing, as I’d been contemplating this build for quite awhile and had on my to-do list for Invers on Monday to call in and have wee look at one. Bugger me days, Friday night, up popped an email from said retailer with a substantial saving on exactly that. Can’t ignore the signs from the gun gods can we!!
A fair amount of the blame can be attributed to this forum as well. I never thought I could be so easily led

Now all you need is a .22 Grendel chambered barrel and you're set for life with a switchbarrel Howa mini

I could live with that cut down mag. Easy to do?

Cool, good to know. What stocks have you got on your rifles?

    @Longrun
The walnut one is just a standard old boyed but I got them to make me a walnut one instead of laminate
The black rifle isn’t mine the stock was was made by @Freezer (the owner) from high density foam and fiberglass
The hole rig as pictured is will well under the 3kg mark with the hardy can installed

Heres a link to freezer’s thread about the stock
https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....project-84434/ Be aware that it is alot harder than it looks
Freezer is a clever bastard who has a fair amount of experience with fiberglass working on boats

Yes, no chance of me emulating @Freezer efforts

What powders are people using in their grendels.
I've checked in on delta Mike's deals and will be shooting 123gr eldm. I was thinking 8028 or 2206h
